Should a service business hide its address on Google?
Yes, if customers don't come to you. Google's rules say a service area business, one that travels to its customers, should hide its address and set a service area instead. Show your address only if you have a storefront or office with signs where you serve customers during your hours.
You set the service area as the towns or regions you cover, up to about two hours' drive from your base. Hiding the address doesn't hide your business: you still show up in Maps and search for the places you serve. Name the same towns on your website, so Google and customers both know where you go.
A mobile detailer who works from home hides the address and lists the cities they drive to. A detailer with a shop customers pull into shows the address.
Setting this up right, and matching it on the website, is part of every build we do.
