Why isn't my business showing up on Google Maps?
Usually it's one of four things: your Google Business Profile isn't verified, it's in the wrong category, your service area doesn't reach the person searching, or nearby businesses have more reviews and a stronger website. Google ranks Maps by relevance, distance and prominence, and nobody can pay to move up.
Start by searching your exact business name. If you don't show up at all, the profile is missing, unverified or suspended. If you show up for your name but not for "carpet cleaning near me", Google knows you exist but doesn't see you as the best match yet. Check that your main category is what people actually search for, your hours and service area are filled in, and your name, address and phone match your website exactly. Then look at who does show up: count their reviews and photos, and open their websites. Google's own tips say the same.
For example, a house cleaner listed only as "Cleaning service" with 6 reviews and no website will usually lose to one listed as "House cleaning service" with 80 reviews and a site that names every town it serves.
This is the work we do for clients every week: the right categories, a website that backs up the profile, fresh photos from real jobs, and a steady flow of reviews.
