How much does SEO cost, and is it worth it for a small business?
Most SEO providers charge between $500 and $2,000 a month, and $501 to $1,000 is the most common retainer in Ahrefs' survey of 439 SEO pros. It's worth it when it brings in more work than it costs, which usually takes four months to a year to show.
Ask what you get for the money: who writes and updates your pages, who looks after your Google Business Profile, how reviews are handled, and what you'll see in a report. Be careful with anyone who promises the number one spot. Google says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking.
Do the math with your own numbers. If a new customer is worth $400 to you and SEO costs $800 a month, two extra jobs a month pays for it, and everything past that is profit.
We don't sell SEO by itself. It's built into the website and the routine upkeep, with a weekly call so you can see what it brings in.
